Dane County New Horizons Music, Inc. (DCNHM) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides an entry point for aspiring adult musicians, a re-entry opportunity for individuals who have been exposed to playing in a band during their school days and those who have been continuous players.
To effectively carry out our mission, DCNHM requires funds to support the educational activities necessary to develop and maintain an ensemble. Unlike for-profit supported New Horizons bands, DCNHM returns all fees back to the ensemble to support its programs, building on its successes, and maintaining low costs to participants.
Our 2024 Fall Session includes 12 two-hour rehearsals and a concert. The cost for each is $117 per person; a second family member living at the same address is $59. All fees are due by the first rehearsal of each session. Those considering joining us get their first rehearsal free to be certain Dane County New Horizons Music is right for them.
As a non-profit, we can accept donations, apply for grant money, and develop a partnership relationship with individuals and businesses. These are all sources of funds that can help keep participant fees as low as possible.
Our board wishes to maintain transparency of budgeting and costs of the band and share the information with band members. If you have any questions about DCNHM's finances, please speak with our Treasurer.
